Green / Environment Studies Programme
We believe that our students should have the chance to enjoy and learn more about the natural world and have the opportunity to experience the joy of wildlife and wild places in their daily life. Being in the natural world improves mental and physical wellbeing and our experience the natural world increases the likelihood we will take care of it. Here at Sheaf Training, we are surrounded by ancient woodland and the grounds provide a safe outside space where we can grow, forage, discover and care for plants, encourage wildlife and explore green and environmental endeavours together. Students studying this programme will gain knowledge and develop skills in relation to sustainability, learning about plants, greenery, and the Sheaf grounds. As well as researching various plants, such as how they are used for medicines and healing. In addition, students can also gain a recognised foundation qualification which will develop their employability and life skills and could lead to supported employment activities or internal progression onto another programme.
