Entry Requirements:

Five GCSEs (A-C including Maths & English) and an access course that can be completed at Red Tape Studios. Students are selected on merit and an interview is required prior to course start.

 

16-19 year olds:

Study here for two years (the BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Technology is the core qualification of our 2 year study programme) to earn up to 420 UCAS points.

 

The course:

The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology is an internationally recognised qualification which is valued by employers and universities. Students may go into careers such as music production, broadcasting, multimedia, TV/video/film, sound engineering and DJing or progress into higher education.

 

This is a practical work related 18-unit course that includes: Studio Production; Computer Technology for Music; MIDI Sequencing and vital Music Business information. The course also includes study in Production Analysis and Composition. The individual will be required to complete an assignment for each of the units.

 

This course is equivalent to four A-levels and up to 420 UCAS points. This course can lead to progression into Higher Education or University.
