Our world would be nothing without plants. They feed us, keep us warm and dry, clean our air and provide us with a beautiful, green environment to live in. Working with plants, from designing and building a new city park to developing new food crops can be incredibly rewarding and there is a wealth of career options to choose from.
We believe that the best way to learn about horticulture is by getting your hands dirty. In addition to the classroom based theory part of your qualifications, you will learn by your every day involvement in a genuine horticultural work environment.
This may be within the 4.5 acres of landscaped grounds at our £3.2m purpose-built training centre, situated in the middle of ancient Roe Woods to the north of Sheffield, or in our 4000m2 commercial standard greenhouses, situated in the south of the city.
We also work closely together with Sheffield City Council’s Parks Department and a number of our students are placed within the city parks, gaining solid work experience from which to develop a career.
