Sheaf Specialist Vocational College

COVID-19 Information

Since the Coronavirus outbreak, Sheaf Training Centre has been working extremely hard to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all of our students and staff members. Currently, there are no confirmed cases of Covid-19 at Sheaf Training Centre. The Government recently announced that schools are to close from Friday 20th March for most students, apart from the children of key workers and vulnerable children. As Sheaf Training Centre delivers specialist provision to learners with high needs, we will be remaining open.

Following the recently published Government's guidance on social distancing for everyone in the United Kingdom, our staff levels have been impacted and we anticipate that this will not improve over the next couple of weeks. As a result, this means that some of our students will not be with their usual Tutors and Educational Support Workers. However, we have experienced, committed and specialised staff who will continue to work with our students and do their utmost best to ensure that their daily learning routines are not disrupted and they continue to have a fantastic student experience at Sheaf.

We will ensure that students and parents/carers are regularly updated via telephone, email and our social media channels. In addition, we are currently in the process of finalising our virtual learning classroom in order for students in self-isolation to take part in blended learning online.

We wish to sincerely thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please do keep yourself and your loved ones safe and well during this time.

Post 16 High Needs Provision at Sheaf Training

Sheaf Training Centre Sheaf is a vibrant learning and training facility which meets the needs of young people with SEND focusing on developing skills for adulthood and employment. Students are aged between 16 and 25 years old and access our High Needs Study Programmes through their Education, Health and Care Plan. Referrals are made via the SEND Assessment and Placement Team.

High Needs provision is delivered either on site at Sheaf Training Centre or off-site on a programme where learning is supported through one of our partner providers.
