The course:
Our BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology is an internationally recognised qualification which is valued by employers and universities. Students may go into careers such as music production and recording, broadcasting; scoring and sound designing for multimedia, live sound engineering and on the DJ club/festival scene; or progress onto higher education.
With a combination of both written and practical work, our 1st year 10-unit course includes -
- Studio recording techniques
- Mixing and mastering techniques
- DAW Production
- Music technology in performance
For those who want progression onto our 2nd year, a further 4-unit course includes -
- Music technology enterprise opportunities
- DJ performance techniques
Work experience and enrichment activities are also provided as part of the programme.
You will progress your skills through regular tutorials and sessions, gaining the confidence & experience to possibly progress onto higher education; or stand out from the crowd and climb the steps on the employment ladder.
Our BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology course will gain you up to 420 UCAS points, and is equivalent to 3 A levels.
Entry requirements:
- Five GCSE's grade 4 to 9, these must include English and Maths.
- Students must be aged sixteen or over on the 31st August of any given year.
- A free access course will also need to be completed.
You will be required to attend an interview, all students will be accepted on merit.
