Community Learning

Community learning includes a broad range of local learning opportunities that brings together adults (of different ages and backgrounds) and helps them to pursue an interest, address a need, gain a new skill, become healthier or learn how to support their children.

The Community Learning team has a commissioning framework of local suppliers that deliver adult learning programmes in key community settings across Sheffield.

These programmes fall into one of 4 categories:

    English / Maths
    Digital
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Learning for Personal wellbeing and entry into Employment

Our classes are primarily non-accredited but do include many that lead to a nationally recognised qualification. Learners can enrol on any course even if they haven’t studied before.

There is a small charge to attend these classes however English and maths are free.  Classes are free for those Learners on means tested benefits.
