Construction (Multi-trades) Programme

This programme is designed to offer students the opportunity to develop baseline skills and gain knowledge of basic building and construction skills to prepare them for the world of work and enable them to be work ready with a presentable CV. Learners will work towards a recognised foundation qualification in construction and develop a range of employability skills, along with gaining an introduction to environmental sustainability in construction and ethical waste disposal management. They will be able to experience problem solving, teamwork and communication skills in the simulated workplace and be able to communicate and calculate effectively as both individuals and as part of teamwork tasks. This will also create opportunities for them to practice their customer service skills and personal development. Maths and English will be delivered in such a way that it will be work related to their respective trade employment interests.
