Hospitality, Catering and Retail Programme
This programme offers entry Level learning in basic food preparation and hygiene skills to students who are keen to explore independent cooking skills / life skills to enable progression into supported living, voluntary work or paid work. Delivery will focus on them learning all the skills to cook independently which will include: budgeting, meal planning, shopping, safe storage of food, safe cooking of food, using the correct kitchen equipment safely and hygienically. Students will develop skills for independent living, shopping, budgeting and preparing simple home cooked meals. Students will also learn the foundation skills of hospitality through basic customer service and experience of work, on site which we hope will help them find opportunities for work or volunteering in the future.
