Functional Skills

We offer accredited courses in the following subjects:

• English (from Entry .. to Level …)
• Maths (from Entry … to Level …)
• IT (from Entry ….to Level …)

We also offer non-accredited courses in all these subjects, which do not result in a qualification but can prepare you to move on with your learning.

How it works:

We provide a suite of progressive non-accredited and accredited courses in English, maths and I.T., culminating in G.C.S.E. equivalent Functional Skills qualifications from City and Guilds. Our courses are aimed at 19+ adults. All courses are currently delivered online due to the current pandemic, but face-to-face, classroom delivery will resume as soon as circumstances allow.

Our team of tutors are experienced, expert educators and subject specialists, who deliver courses in an accessible, dynamic and flexible way. We use community venues and library spaces across the city to make your educational journey as easy and convenient as possible. Functional Skills courses seek to build learner confidence and skill in the three key areas of English, maths and I.T., enabling our students to become dynamic, independent learners and engaged, aspirational citizens, with valuable qualifications and a range of abilities that broaden employment and further/higher education opportunities.

Our Functional Skills courses are completely free – we receive government funding, so there is no cost to learners or venues.
