Progressions Team – What we do
The Progressions Team staff work with Sheffield schools in matching learners with alternative provision from within our Alternative Provision Network. The team are able to meet with learners, school staff and parent/carers to ensure that the learners are given information and guidance relating to the provision on offer.
In addition, we work closely with multi-agency workers to support the young people, help monitor attendance and achievements, and work to seek solutions to day-to-day problems that may arise. The team also monitors contractual compliance and Quality Assurance of provision across the network.
Intensive Re-engagement for KS2/KS3 and KS4
The Intensive Re-engagement programmes are aimed at:-
-
Students struggling with the transition from primary to secondary education
-
KS3 & KS4 students who may benefit from a period of intensive support or are at risk of exclusion
-
open to Y7 (Secondary transition) and Y8/Y9 students (KS3).
-
KS4 to support the transition at Y11 to support the prevention of NEETs
Courses are available for a fixed period of 12 weeks. The aim must be to re-engage these learners and reintegrate them back into mainstream schooling or post 16 education and training.
The current AP Directory has been taken down, and replaced with an interim spreadsheet of provider information. We are in the process of updating the full Directory, which will be uploaded and shared when this is complete. Please check out the downloads section below for more information.
The AP referral form has been updated; Straight AP and Intensive Reengagement programmes now have separate referral forms. These should be used in place of the previous version for any new students you wish to consider for AP.
If you have any questions or would like to speak to a member of the Progressions Team, please contact them on the relevant numbers in the table below.
*Note for parents and guardians - all inquiries should be made via your child's secondary school.
