Post 16 (SEND)

Individual study programmes for students with special educational needs.

The Progressions Team provides alternative provision to learners between the ages of 14 and 25.

For post-16 learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) the Progressions Team is able to provide individual bespoke programmes where necessary. These opportunities are typically for learners who are unable to access traditional courses through college, other Local Authority opportunities, post-16 school provision or independent service providers (ISPs).

Where this is the case, the Local Authority would identify that an individualised programme was necessary through a SEND statutory assessment and identify that an individually developed plan was necessary through the learner’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC plan).
